Mind and donors in support of the Province of British Columbia would not be possible without the help of gaming revenue. State and Government gathered at the spot: Mayor, Hazel Postma, our sponsors, Douglas College and our local legislators, Black Dawn, all the applause, spoke words of support for mental illness and run the file. Avneet participants gave their address, and we went to the races. I began grilling and cooking, what looked like a lot of hamburgers and hot dogs. Gazebo and funky music from the time the only sound was the crackling of burgers.

RaceThe rain is so relaxed. People began to trickle back from the event. It is a joyful spirit in the air. People were laughing, talking, meeting with old friends, to discuss the case. After all it was a mistake. Despite the rain and darkness came and the fun, rain-proof enthusiasm of volunteers and perhaps fueled in part by the dignity of thing. They were Westcoasters and would rather let the rain stop you only when they do something to your understanding. And then, aside from the crowd as the optimistic spirit, the rain actually stopped. People full of burgers and hot dogs.

Then man award ceremony, where the indomitable Avneet leaned heavily on his crutches, walked up the platform to enjoy, while the fastest runner, the most successful fundraisers and Canucks for the price of many awards, including signed records, attract. A large part of the crowd to hang around to enjoy the music. Day was a resounding success. We had exceeded our expectations in fundraising and attendance. But the best part is, people had enjoyed, and will be back next year. All our hard work has paid off!
